A Walk at the Metro Richmond Zoo

How about a nice tour around a zoo in Virginia? There is nothing more fun than a trip to the zoo to admire and experience the wonderful creatures that has been placed on earth. You can take a trip to Metro Richmond Zoo together with everyone else on a charter bus.

*****

One of the most notable exhibit in Metro Richmond Zoo is the chance to feed the giraffes at its exhibit, as well as the white Bengal tigers on display here. You can feed the giraffes with the zoo treats sold here. There is a herd of nine reticulated giraffes here and a single Masai giraffe which is kept in a separate yard together with one other reticulated giraffe. There are other animals placed together with the gentle giraffes such as the Eastern bongo, klipspringer, black-necked swan, ostrich, and some cranes. For those with children, you should visit the children’s farm in order to feed the entourage of animals here like deer, goats, sheep, young antelopes and donkeys."

Kings Dominions Theme Park of Virginia

Being the only water and theme park in Virginia has its pros and cons...Kings Dominions makes it possible for families and kids to get together and have some unabashed fun during weekends possible without driving or flying out to places like New Jersey, Miami and Fort Lauderdale. The cons would be the unimaginable crowds during peak season...with the theme park being the only one in Virginia, that is.
Kings Dominion is where guests and visitors can ride the thrilling rides while sliding on the water slides all in one place, under one roof. There are fifteen different roller coasters on last count, which includes the award-winning Intimidator 305. The charter bus VA water theme park is simply called WaterWorks, a twenty acres of splashing good fun spot suitable kids of all ages and grownups too, of course. The giant wave pools are definitely winners with the young ones because we all know how kids love to get in one of those crafts and try streering their way back to....well, ‘shore’.
The best time to head over to King Dominion in your charter bus VA would be the Summer weekdays, when everyone else take on the weekends. So, if you are merely visiting Virginia and have all the flexibility and time in the world, head over to this awesome Virginia theme park any time from Monday to Friday instead of picking a weekend. For some reason, spring’s weekends aren’t as crowded as the summer time. Apparently, we have been told that visiting Kings Dominion on a sunday during fall isn’t such a bad idea either.
And as for every September of every year, the Halloween Haunt returns, much to the delight of their fans and regular visitors. It is a Halloween-themed event and fun activities, the theme for each year goes through a revamp so if you want to know what you are getting yourself into before the visit, take a peek at their website for schedule, events and detailed information.
The thing with visiting Kings Dominion is that it wouldn’t be complete to just ride the rides without heading to WaterWorks on the same day. Since admission into WaterWorks is already included in the admission fee (which isn’t cheap), we think you should bring appropriate swimwear or extra clothes to change because we are pretty sure you are going to succumb to all the gleeful cheers and screams coming out from the WaterWorks play area during this charter bus VA visit.
And finally, remember to wear comfortable shoes along because....well, there is going to be plenty of walking inside of this massive fun place. Have fun and enjoy!

A Day In Virginia’s Alexandria

Everyone reaches a point in their life whereby they just need to get away from everything and blend in with the people from another city or country once in a while. While it is great if you can afford to take a flight out of the country to immerse yourself in a whole new culture in a completely different country, there is one such quaint place in our backyard....and that would be Virginia’s little Alexandria. All you need to do is to rent a charter bus from Charter BUs VA, a reliable and professional charter bus rental company that is servicing the entire nation in most cities and bring the small group to Alexandria for a relaxing time.
In Old Town Alexandria, it is a known fact that they have it all in terms of it being one of the preferred places to live and work in. In fact, Alexandria’s been climbing the list of most preferred quiet getaways in the country...and we completely agree.
The charming thing about a place like Alexandria is that it is Virginia’s hidden gem, has an Old Town that rings of history and rich culture while there is also the waterfront at Potomac River. The authorities have come to learn about how much pride the locals have regarding the waterfront and have been adding some newer features. Do head over during your charter bus VA visit.
And if history is what you are yearning for, then a charter bus visit to Alexandria’s Christ Church is an absolute MUST. It not only showcases the amazing structure (it is not a monument, but a real church built by initial settlers) but also reflects the religious heritage that has been vehemently preserved over a long period of time. The church continues to be regularly used till this very day and the people and pastors are more than happy to offer you their welcome during their services and sermons. As welcomed as tourists are at Christ Church, because the church is still being used, and if there is a wedding reception or service going on, visitors are discouraged from entering the church and disrupting the ongoing event.
Look around the internet for historical tours or take a cue from the locals about where to hit during your charter bus VA getaway...if you are really lucky, for instance, if you are visiting around Halloween, take advantage of their ghost tours which might leave you with some amazing memories and incredible fun.

Oatlands Plantation, Virginia

The Oatlands Plantation located on Route 15, Leesburg, VA would not have become what it is today if it was not for the enslaved people back then who had lived and worked there for Mr George Carter and his family. The Carters family became the largest slave owners in the Loudon County in 1860 and if you are curious how they lived back then, chartering a VA bus to the plantation with your family for a day’s trip would definitely be a fantastic idea.

Upon arriving at the plantation, VA charter bus visitors will be taken to the Carriage House Gift Shop to buy the tickets for the tour. In the Gift Shop, they have varieties of souvenirs and memorabilia that you can purchase as you buy your tickets or after you are done touring the grounds. It would be better to make the gift purchases after the tour so that you don’t have to be carrying your items as you walk around the grounds. They also have available decorative garden items for you to buy and bring home to make your own garden more attractive and appealing.
After you have bought your tickets, you and your family members will be treated to guided tours in the mansion, but the guided tours are only for the first floor of the Oatlands mansion where they will share with visitors on the lives of the Carters and the history of the mansion. The guided tour would normally take about half an hour to forty five minutes and then you are encouraged to check out the second floor of the mansion on your own. They have put up information that will tell you the use of the rooms and the things that are placed inside the rooms. Do keep in mind that the mansion was built in 1804, hence, the mansion is not air-conditioned at all, so if you are going there with your family on a hot day, be sure to be appropriately dressed, so that you won’t feel hot and sweaty after touring the mansion. Or if you want, you can also bring along with you a small portable handheld fan to keep yourself cool during the tour in the mansion.
After having toured the mansion, make your way out to the gardens and enjoy the scenic view of the gardens and the majestic view of the mountains right on the front porch of the mansion. And remember to drop by the Carriage House Gift Shop before you make your way home in your VA chartered bus.

Shopping spree in Virginia

Shopping trips are fun. Shopping and dining thereafter are a great combination - but knowing where to shop and dine thereafter is what makes your shopping trip totally fabulous!
In Virginia, The Town Center has been said to be one of the best shopping place for shoppers. It’s a shopping haven, some would even say. Located in the heart of Virginia’s largest city, The Town Center comprises of a great collection of shopping, dining and entertainment. With a mixture of national stores and restaurants, boutiques, cafes, landscaped parks and sidewalks and not forgetting the ever spectacular Sandler Center for the Performing Arts and the Fountain Plaza - all these are tempting VA charter bus visitors to just walk in, take a stroll, indulge or just sit back and relax and just people watch!
When making your way down to The Town Center, it would be a good idea to park at this free parking garage that is near to the Westin. Alternatively, you can also have a choice of parking at a street parking that is available for two hour time blocks. Right at this place, you will find many great restaurants and shops. The whole surrounding area gives you this “classiness” feel to it. You will find restaurants like Cheesecake Factory, Ruth’s Crhis, Bravo and the likes, so there is no way you will go hungry at all. There is also a comedy club where you can go and have some good laughs after all the shopping and eating.
Another great shopping venue is the 17th Street Surf Shop. They opened their first store in 1970 and just like the name suggests, it is surely the shop to go for all your surfing and boarding needs. They have been in the business for more than 40 years now and have provided some of the best, if not all, in surf, skate and style to their customers.
If you love designer clothes, handbags, shoes and jewelry (which girl doesn’t??) then you simply must make your way to Double Take Consignment, located at 604 Hilltop W Shopping Centre. Shoppers who go here never leave the place empty handed. You will not be able to resist not buying when you are in this place. They are always up to date with the latest trends and fashions. And the biggest plus point about this place is that you do not have to burn a big hole in your purse. The items sold here are really great bargains and you will not regret shopping here. In fact, you would just want to come back really soon to shop again!

Virginia wine trails with a Charter Bus

As the home state of famed oenophile Thomas Jefferson, Virginia has long been a state tied to wine-making. Wineries are located just outside the major cities of Washington, D.C., on the slopes of the state's western mountains and in its Shenandoah farmland. Traveling on Virginia's wine trails with a charter bus and visiting its wineries can be the subject of either a day trip, a weekend getaway or, for true wine lovers, an entire week's vacation. Visit Virginia with a bus, coach bus, party bus, mini bus, passenger coach or school bus chartered from Charter Bus Virginia and sample some of the best wines and see the awesome scenery this state has to offer.
Fox Meadow is located a short charter bus ride just a few miles off I-66, roughly 70 miles west of Washington, D.C. and just outside the lower Shenandoah Valley. The vineyard sits at the top of a high hillside overlooking the woods and farms beneath, and has a wood-paneled lodge with a fireplace, tasting room and deck. Fox Meadow features regular food pairings with its wine tastings, and hosts special events for Virginia charter bus visitors such as St. Patrick's Day with Irish stew, barrel tastings and even lasagna dinners with wine pairing. The wine from Fox Meadow has won national and regional awards, such as the Atlantic Seaboard Gold Medal for their 2006 Merlot Estate Series and the Virginia Governor's Cup Silver Medal for their 2005 Cabernet Franc Estate Series.
The Winery at La Grange is located in Prince William County, just outside the Washington, D.C. metro area. The visitor's center is in a restored, red brick manor house dating to the 1790s, imparting a historic feel to the winery's tasting experience for charter bus visitors. Their wines have won several awards from regional and national competitions, including the Best of Show and Gold Medal at the 2008 State Fair of Virginia Wine Competition for their 2006 Fletcher's Chardonnay, and the 2008 Atlantic Seaboard Gold Medal for their 2007 Pinot Gris. The Winery at La Grange also hosts regular events, such as Chili Nights and barrel tastings.
Rockbridge Vineyard is situated on upper Shenandoah Valley farmland, 120 miles from Richmond, Va. and 170 miles from Washington, D.C., in an area that is dotted with rental cottages and farmhouse bed and breakfasts and easily reached by charter bus. The tasting room and winery itself are set inside the farm's old red wooden barns and outbuildings. Rockbridge Vineyard hosts events like its winemaker's dinner served in the barn and live music shows that draw charter bus visitors. Their wines have won regional awards, such as the 2001 Virginia Governors Cup Gold Medal for their 1999 Tuscarora Red and the 2006 Virginia Governors Cup Gold Medal for their 2005 Traminette.
Virginia’s wineries promise a charter bus experience that will not be easily matched. Plan a charter bus trip through Virginia’s wine making region with the help of Charter Bus Virginia. Their friendly and efficient staff will help you plan your charter bus journey with one of their charter buses chosen from their fleet of fully equipped vehicles.

Golfing Virginia

The southern state of the Commonwealth of Virginia was one of the founding states of the United States of America, and famous for it’s varied terrain giving rise to some of the best golf courses in the United States. Why not take a golf tour of Virginia with Charter Bus Virginia? Charter Bus Virginia offers rentals of a charter bus, coach bus, party bus, mini bus, passenger coaches or school bus at reasonable prices to suit any size group from our fleet of vehicles.
Virginia’s location near Washington D.C. and Chesapeake Bay has long meant a steady stream of visitors and vacationers throughout the year. Coupled with it’s varied terrain of coastal plains where it fronts the Chesapeake, to it’s rolling hills and mountains in the Blue Ridge Mountains means that Virginia has always been an ideal place to lay out a golf course. The winds and weather of Virginia allow for year round golfing, although humidity in the state’s climate rises the further south you go.
Some of the most challenging golf courses in the nation reside in Virginia. One of these is the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville. This 7,289 yard regulation distance course has 18 holes centered around Lake Manassas. A club that concentrates purely on golf, this walking course provides golf in its very essence. Taking your charter bus over to Fredericksburg, play a game at Cannon Ridge Golf Club. This rolling, 7,100 yard course serves up a challenge to golfers of every level. A unique feature of this club is the Beman course, laid out on land where Union troops set up cannon revetments during the Civil War. Greens are small because course designer Deane Beman believes that slow play results from too much time spent on the putting green. Nonetheless, the greens still break in a manner which will give any golfer a run for his money.
The Riverfront Golf Club is a course laid out in the traditional manner, giving breathtaking views of its riverside location. Located on the banks of the Nansemond River, this 6,357 yard par 71 course plays on Bermuda grass, and was voted 4 and a half stars by Golf Digest. Head in your charter bus over to Norfolk, where you can play at Eagle’s Haven and Lambert point. Eagle’s Haven is managed by the U.S. Navy, and is 6,206 yards long. Lambert Point is a municipal course with a par of 34.  Both courses feature rolling terrain and provide an essential golf only experience.
Kinloch Golf Club in Manakin-Sabot is a challenging forested course that provides a private club atmosphere to the discerning golfer. Voted #1 private course by Golf Digest, this club in the Richmond area serves up the quintessential Virginia gold experience. If you and your group would like to take a golf tour of Virginia, please give Charter Bus Virginia a call to find out how we can assist you in your travel arrangements with our friendly, personalized service.
